How closely do you adhere to your cancellation
policy?
Because we are a small property we have no choice but to adhere to
our cancellation policy very strictly. While we may empathize with
you in cases of unforeseen circumstances, a cancellation is very costly
on our part. As a result of your cancellation we do incur non-refundable
charges ourselves, not to mention the lost opportunity to rent the property
for that time period. We find that this policy discourages people
from 'shopping around' which may be appropriate for large hotels but unfortunate
for villas.

Can I have guests over if I rent the villa?
You may have a few guests over to visit; however, there will be additional
charges for meal preparation, cost of food if you are on a meal plan, and
for any other services or facilities used beyond that provided for the
rental party. You may not invite groups of people (separate from
the rental party) to the villa for functions, such as family reunions,
meetings, weddings etc. without our prior written consent. Guests
separate from the rental party may not stay overnight. We ask that
you do not invite strangers (people you did not know prior to your trip)
to or into the villa for security reasons. The occupancy for the
villa is as stated in the rental agreement and may not be modified except
by prior written agreement.
Suppose I want to cook when I am there?
You may use the kitchen if you so choose. You may ask the staff
to help you. There is no rate reduction if you do your own cooking.
A member of staff will always be available to assist you with our equipment.
You may bring your children but you must realize that you are directly
responsible for their supervision and for their actions. For example,
children may not use jacuzzis, exercise equipment, roof deck, etc. unsupervised.

Suppose we want to go out for a night on
the town, could we leave the kids?
Yes you may. We can arrange for nanny service. Depending
on how late you will be out you may have to pay for the night or pay for
the taxi for the nanny to go home. The rates will be extremely reasonable.
What is your policy on smoking?
Please do not smoke inside the villa at any time. Also, please
do not use our dishes etc. as ashtrays. Fees will be assessed for
any damage that results from such activities. There are no exceptions to this policy.
Is there a minimum rental period?
Stays of one week or more are preferred but we will consider rentals
of 4 nights or more.
Is the villa suitable for someone who is
elderly?
There is a bedroom suite on the ground floor which, while suitable
for all guests, is ideally suitable for individuals who have difficulty
with going up and down the stairs. There is a step down from the foyer
into the dining room and into the living room.
We like your web site but how do we know
this is not just hype?
We're delighted that you like our site. You ask a very good question.
Perhaps all we can say is, we are only interested in having people stay
with us who want to stay with us and who will have a good time. If
we feel that you would probably not enjoy your time with us - we will tell
you upfront. The last thing we want is an unhappy client.

Is there an added service charge?
We do not have added service charges - except for meetings and special events. We
suggest 10-15% tip for our staff.
Are there any items we should bring with
us?
Sun block, mosquito repellent, favorite foods, film for cameras, baby
food. Bring anything that you consider a “must have”.
How far is the villa from the airport?
The villa is less than an hour from the Montego Bay International Airport.
Do you provide air travel arrangements?
No. We do have an association with a travel agency that provides
bulk airfares via American Airlines. This agency will give you a
price quote that you may compare with any other source you wish.
How far is Mais Oui from the beach?
We are a very short walk (about 2-3 minutes) from two beaches giving
us ocean views from the upper level and of course from both levels of the
expansive roof deck. Walk to the end of the dead-end street (about
1/2 block) and you will find the staircase to a small beach cove.
Walk about 3/4 block to your right and there is another beach. These
are not public beaches. Most times you will be the only ones there.
You may see an occasional fisherman or two. There are two other villas
in the immediate area so you may see their guests. There is a much
larger private beach exclusively for villa owners about a minute's drive away. There are additional beaches
within a short drive.

What arrangements are there if I get sick?
There is a clinic nearby which primarily serves the Kaiser Bauxite
Company and the local area. The physician there is trained in Western
medicine and has a very good reputation. The phone number for the
clinic will be available at the villa.
For serious problems, we are located about 40 minutes from Mobay Hope,
a new state-of-the-art medical diagnostic and treatment center. The hospitals in St. Ann's Bay and Falmouth are even closer.
Before your visit, please check with your insurance company so you know
what procedure to follow just in case you do develop a medical emergency.
How safe is the area?
The Discovery Bay/Rio Bueno area has always been a safe area.
Nevertheless, we have taken more precautions than required by the Jamaica
Tourist Board. Please see the section on Staff & Security for
further details.
